Every one of these sets is great value in its price range. Just to see and hear any one of these sets is to understand why Pearl has been the market leader for so long.

Premier drums have undergone a big change around in the last two years. Only the new Premier Series drums are now made in the UK. These are fantastic top-end drums and worthy of the great Premier tradition and are available in over 30 stunning fishes with shells in maple, birch or Gen-X (maple and birch mix). All the other Premier drums are now made outside the UK, but we are very pleased to say that this has seen no sacrifice of the high quality and attention to detail for which the company has been justly famous. The Artist Maple and Artist Birch drums are every bit as good as their UK-made predecessors, and even more affordable. The entry level Cabria Lite and the higher specified Cabria sets are also amazing value.

Gretsch drums, which have been in production in the USA for over 120 years, are once again pushing the frontiers of drum making. Like Premier, only the top-line USA Custom drums are made in their home factory. But also like Premier, the overseas made drums provide astounding quality and value for money. The Renown Maple series are designed and made in such a way that you would be hard pushed to tell the difference from the US made models, except for the super-affordable pricing! The Catalina Birch all birch shell drums are even more amazing value, costing little more than other hardwood shell drums, yet having that distinctive birch sound. The Catalina Club series consists of two small mahogany shell gig kits in wonderful retro-style finishes, while the entry level Blackhawk brings a new level of affordability to the Gretsch line.

Taye Drums are the super success story of the start of the 21st Century! With a new range of drums and hardware designed by the legendary Ray Ayotte, Taye have broken into the market in a big way. The range is compact, yet has something for everyone. Staring with the entry level Spotlight, the Rock Pro and the ProX series with their superb hardwood shells set the quality levels for the other drums in the range. These are the birch and basswood shell TourPro, and the all maple shell Studio Maple. Taye's version of the smaller club set, the Go Kit, is one of our biggest sellers.

Mapex drums are produced in a state of the art plant, which has just received the coveted ISO 9000 certification - the world benchmark for manufacturing excellence. Their range of drums is priced just right, and covers the spectrum, from the top of the range Orion series, with birdseye maple and burl wood finishes, through the innovative maple and walnut shell Saturn, to the ProM all maple and the M Series maple/basswood shell drums. The line is anchored by the amazing value V Series with a choice of wrap or new lacquer plasma finish. And their Black Panther snare drums are among the most exciting on the market. Mapex drums are the very latest addition to the Island Drum lineup, and we are very excited about selling them!
