Fun in the Sun: The Dominican Way - February 20, 2012
Sometimes it’s just nice to get away from ordinary, you know?
Sometimes it’s nice to literally be stranded on an island. However, you want to make sure that island has a resort, or at least a hotel, and if you have the funds and aren’t looking into debt settlement at the moment, why not consider a trip to the Dominican Republic?
Situated on the eastern part of the second-largest island in the Greater Antilles, Hispaniola, you will find no shortage of things to do in the Dominican Republic. You can chill out on the beach and there are also a number of other excursions you can look into as well. You can take some scuba diving lessons and, depending where you are and who you travel with, there’s even some windsurfing and zip line fun to be had as well. And if all of this is a little too extraordinary, they even have some golf courses so you can work on your swing while your kids work on their surfing.
Of course, you are going to want to be careful as with most island resorts. Be aware of your surroundings and your belongings and if you find yourself in a destabilized area, consider staying on the resort grounds.
